Brand new never before written blog, August 12, 2020.

As I write this I'm listening to Richard Thompson's 2007 album "Sweet Warrior" and a song called "Dad's Gonna Kill Me".  Of course "Dad" refers to the city of Bagdad and the song is written from the point of view of an American soldier.  This once again proves that songs can and should be written about anything.

I've been writing songs since Grade Six.  At that time I formed my first band and we were invited to play in front of our class.  Whoohoo! Fun!  What were we going to play?  We didn't know any songs so we wrote our own. I still have the notebook with those songs.  I look at them from time to time.  They are hilarious!  They prove to me that I've come a long way in 50 years.  Hopefully I've still got 50 more to go, with lots more to learn.
